Project Overview
The Goose Hollow Underground Project will update and underground approximately six city blocks of lower-voltage distribution lines and related Canyon Substation equipment along SW 17th Avenue in the Goose Hollow neighborhood. Construction will take place in the general area between Lincoln High School to the north and SW Market Street to the south, and between I-405 to the east and SW 18th Avenue to the west. When complete, the project will improve reliability for neighborhood homes and businesses and strengthen the electrical grid across PGE’s larger service area.
Project benefits:
- Modernizes infrastructure by replacing aging equipment that was installed in the 1970s
- Improves reliability by moving lower-voltage distribution lines underground, helping reduce local outages caused by weather and external damage
- Strengthens the electrical grid by enabling safer access to transmission lines for maintenance and repair
Temporary, planned outages are expected. To help impacted customers prepare, PGE will provide notice a few days in advance. Visit this webpage for the latest project information, including traffic updates.
